چکیده
مفهوم شهر- منطقه به تازگی تبدیل به یک الگوی محبوب در حوزه دانشگاه و سیاست شده، که در تباین با نظریه­هایی چون "مرگ فاصله"،"پایان جغرافیا" و یا ظهور "اقتصاد بی وزن" مطرح شده است. شهر- منطقه به عنوان مکان تجمیع، تشدید، توسعه و رقابت پدیده مطلوبی است که مشخص می­سازد کدام رقابت اقتصادی را می­توان ارتقاء و پرورش داد. از این رو شناسایی زمینه، ماهیت و دلایل اهمیت الگوی شهر-منطقه نیازمند تبیین و تدقیق مضاعف است. تاکنون پژوهش­های گوناگونی درباره شهر-منطقه­ها انجام شده است. این مقاله با استفاده از روش فراتحلیل کیفی، 45 مورد از مقالات علمی تولید شده از سال 2000 (از طریق جستجو در پایگاه داده­های علمی خارجی) را بررسی توصیفی نموده و در سه بعد سوال، هدف و نتیجه ارزیابی به عمل آمده است. ضرورت و کاربرد این فراتحلیل می­تواند در درک ماهیت فضایی شهر-منطقه و تبیین نقش و جایگاه آن به عنوان موتور محرکه مناطق در راستای تعادل و توسعه موثر باشد. در انتها با جمع­بندی آخرین تلاش­­­های علمی این نتیجه حاصل شد که شهر-منطقه ها، با نگرش پیوند اقتصادی دو مقیاس محلی و جهانی به دنبال ارتقاء توان رقابت پذیری و پایداری است و این امر از طریق نومنطقه گرایی امکان­پذیر می­شود. هم­چنین ارائه تحلیل­های ساختاری- عملکردی از الگوی شهر-منطقه برای نهادهای سیاست­گذار علمی و اجرایی ارائه گردید.

چکیده [English]
The city-region concept which is against theories such as “The death of distance”, “The end of geography” or the emergence of “weak economy” has recently become popular among academic and political elite. The city-region as the place of exchange, innovation, development and competition is an ideal area that identifies which economic competition can be promoted and cultivated. Hence, the identification of the context, the nature and reasons for the importance of the city-region pattern needs to be explained in an accurate manner. Various studies have been taken place on the city-region so far.In this paper using qualitative meta-analysis method, 45 scientific articles, published since 2000 are studied in a descriptive way and evaluated (in terms of questions, goals, and results). It seems that the necessity and application of this meta-analysis can be helpful in understanding the spatial nature of the city-region and identifying the role and position of it as a driving engine of the regions to balance and develop. The paper combines these  scientific works and provides a structural-functional analyses of the city-region pattern for academic and executive policy-makers institutions.
